The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation organizes the 4th edition of the Crea!Empresa Conference

Next November 16 the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) will host the fourth edition of the Crea!Empresa conference, organized by the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (FBG), which is based at the PCB. The objective of this conference is to share the experiences of entrepreneurs of today with entrepreneurs of tomorrow in order for this exchange to motivate the development of new projects.Through this initiative the FBG aims to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of the university community and to disseminate information on career opportunities in research, such as the creation of firms.

Crea!Empresa will boast the presence of entrepreneurs who have created their firm with the help of the FBG’s consulting services, all of whom are founding or co-founding partners: Nicole Mahy, of Neurotec Pharma, Manel Cascalló, of VCN Biosciences; Ramon Ramon, of Bioingenium; Enric Gràcia, of Xop Conserves del Ponent and Miquel Bonachera, of AB Biotics. With Josep-Lluís Falcó, consultant of the Department of Business Creation of the FBG, serving as facilitator, the speakers will contribute their experiences, sharing key aspects of creating a firm such as industrial property, financing, human resources, etc. Jaume Valls, director of the Entrepreneurship Chair and director of the Department of Economics and Organization of Firms of the UB, will then proceed to give the Keynote Speech on success stories. The last speech will be conducted by Sara Secall, director of the Department of Business Creation, who will explain which Technological Tools are available to entrepreneurs. The conference will end with a standing Networking Snack Break, in order to encourage conversations between speakers and attendees.

The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation is the Centre for the Transfer of Knowledge, Technology and Innovation of the University of Barcelona. It makes scientific-technical capacities, research outcomes and the know-how generated within the UB group available to firms, institutions and society, conducts activities aimed at enabling the UB’s research outcomes with sufficient potential to reach the market through the creation of new firms based on knowledge and patent licensing, and promotes entrepreneurial spirit in the university setting. The promotion of entrepreneurial spirit and the support to UB entrepreneurs is undertaken by the Foundation’s business creation consulting group: the Department of Business Creation (ACE). Since its establishment in 2001, the ACE has offered its consulting services to over 70 firms, has helped to created more than 25 technology-based firms and has obtained over 10 million Euros for the firms it has served in the form of public grants, venture capital and others.
