Rebeca Mocholí wins the 3rd ‘A day at the PCB’ photo competition

“The PCB’s good future in our hands...” by Rebeca Mocholí has won the 3rd ‘A day at the PCB’ photo competition. The aim of this annual event open to the more than 2,600 people at the Barcelona Science Park (Parc Científic de Barcelona, PCB) is to build a group mosaic with the best snapshots of life in the Park. The award ceremony took place today, Wednesday 20 December, at the Dolors Aleu Room.

Originality, artistic quality and visual impact are the main criteria that guided the judging panel’s selection of the winning photograph. The winner was awarded with a tablet and the image will also be used on the PCB’s Christmas card.

“The way I think about my work environment has been getting better for some time,” says Rebeca Mocholí, PCB-PRBB Animal Facility Alliance technician. “A couple of years ago, my colleagues gave me a crystal ball as a joke ‘to see into our future’. When I decided to enter the competition, straight away I realised that I wanted to use it to take my picture so I could express how I wanted to keep this good feeling going. And that means that if we continue along the same lines, I can predict a good future for all of us with my crystal ball.”

A total of 47 photographs were entered for the competition, taken by staff at research institutes, companies, technology platforms and other organisations in the Barcelona Science Park.

The winner was chosen by a multidisciplinary panel made up of officials and scientists from the Park and communication and graphic design professionals.

All the photographs can be seen on the plasma screens in the Cluster Building and R&D&I Towers reception areas. You can also view them on Instagram with the tag #UnDiaAlPCB2017.

The Barcelona Science Park would like to thank everyone for taking part in this competition, an initiative that has proven very popular among the members of the PCB Community.
