Pilar Gil Ibáñez appointed as new Managing Director of Barcelona Science Park

Pilar Gil Ibáñez started today her duties as managing director at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB). Her career background combines experience acquired in leading research institutions in Europe and the United States with the management of national and international R&D projects. 


Pilar Gil Ibáñez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and Master’s Degree of Biotecnology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), and a PhD in Biomedicine from the Biomedical Research Institute CSIC-UAM. He also has an MBA from IESE Business School (University of Navarra).

As a scientist, Dra Gil has worked with worldwide recognized researchers from Columbia University (USA), the University of Chicago (USA) and the University of Edinburgh (UK) in the fields of biotechnology, neuroscience, genetics, endocrinology and rare diseases. She has also published several articles in reputable scientific journals.

Since 2009, Pilar Gil has been combining this activity with her work at the Biomedical Research Institute CSIC-UAM, coordinating and carrying out national and international R&D projects in the field of Neurology and Endocrinology, and establishing and managing collaborations with doctors and researchers from international institutions to develop R&D projects.
