A meeting to promote Spanish innovation on a global level

Transfiere, European Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation will be held for the fifth year at the Trade Fair and Congress Center of Malaga (FYCMA) on the 10th and 11th of February 2016. This year, the meeting –which has become  one of the major scientific and technological events for the business and R&D sectors in Spain– steps up efforts to attract researchers while also strengthening the presence of the financing sector. Also, following the initiative implemented at the last meeting to invite a guest country to give an in-depth analysis of their innovation model, this edition features the presence of a delegation from South Korea. Transfiere 2016 will also be the framework for the presentation of the presidency Eureka by Spain. 

 

Transfiere Forum –which is based on the need to promote dialogue between the academic and the business communities in order to stimulate Spanish innovation at the global level– includes a schedule of online dating tool for holding B2B meetings on the main productive sectors such as Aeronautics and Aerospace, Agribusiness, Energy, Industry, Infrastructure and Transportation, Environment, Health Care, ICTs, Government and Spanish Technological Platforms. The event features a complete program of conferences and round tables where national and international experts will address the latest trends and opportunities in the field of innovation and technological development. Transfiere also has an Exhibition Area with institutional and commercial stands where public and private organizations and major companies unveil their innovative products and services. 

During the meeting, the International Innovation Forum keeps panel discussions focused on the main business opportunities, sharing innovation models and generating ideas to propitiate synergies and result in major projects. It will be the framework for the presentation of the presidency Eureka by Spain in mid- 2016. Eureka is a pan-European network of cooperation in the field of technological development and innovation, aimed at obtaining new products, processes or services rapid introduction in international markets. 

In 2015 Transfiere Forum brought together more than 2,300 professionals and hosted 5,000 work meetings in a day and a half. It is worth noting that the 2015 edition, held on the 11th and 12th of this past February, was the most international to date, attended by 26 countries around the world, with Israel as the guest country.

The event is organized by the City Council of Malaga –through the Trade Fair and Congress Center of Malaga (FYCMA)– jointly with the Andalusian Regional Government (Junta de Andalucía) and  the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness  of Spain. The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) is actively involved in the organizing committee.
