The PCB participates in a meeting of Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese innovation management organizations

From 26 to 30 April, the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB, Barcelona Science Park) attended the VI Meeting held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. This event included conferences that addressed the training of managers for this innovation project and aimed to strengthen cooperation between Latin American, Spain and Portugal companies and the fields of research and technological development.

The section devoted to new elements and technology transfer models was given by the director of the PCB, Màrius Rubiralta, who presented the PCB and other European models and the concept of bioregions.

Started in 1991, the project includes the participation of 21 countries that form part of the , which includes, on the one hand, Spain and Portugal, and on the other, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Equador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The , is an international programme to promote scientific and technological cooperation which was set up in 1984 through an Inter-institutional Agreement, The main aim of the is to contribute to the sustainable development of Latin America by strengthening its capacity for technological development and by promoting innovation in its production systems and social services.

The is supported by technology centres, public research institutions, companies, universities, international and national organizations related to science and technology, and agents of information and production systems management.
