The PCB houses the 3rd Crea!Emprea session, an initiative from the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation

The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation–based at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB)– organised the third edition of Crea!Empresa an initiative born with the objective of encouraging the university community to create technology-based companies. The event took place on the 10 of November at the Cluster Building, Fèlix Serratosa Hall at the PCB. The objective of the session was to share the experiences of the entrepreneurs of today with the entrepreneurs of tomorrow so that this exchange becomes the source of motivation for the birth of new initiatives.


The meeting is mainly aimed at professors, phD students and students in their last year of studies or newly graduates with innovative ideas of a scientific-technological nature, who show an interest in transferring their knowledge to society through the creation of technology-based companies.

Crea!Empresa featured talks from entrepreneurs who have created their own company under the advice of the BGF, all of whom areg founding members: Llorenç Rafecas, from Enantia; Ramon Ramon, from Bioingenium; Josep Lluis Torres, from Bioglane; Isabel Trillas, from Biocontrol Technologies and Ignasi Vilajosana, from Worldsensing. Moderated by Esther Riambau. They explained their experiences and talked about key aspects for the creation of a company such as industrial property, financing and human resources. Next, Xavier Triadó, subdirector of the Entrepreneurship Chair and Professor at the Department of Economics and Business Organisations of the UB gave the Keynote Speeach on entrepenership.

As a first time event, this year there were a round table with different capital risk investors specialised in funding technology-based companies in their early stages. The last lecture was led by Sara Secall, director of the Business Centre Area from the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation who explained what funding tools are available to the technology entrepreneurs. The event concluded with a Networking Lunch where the attendants and lecturers had a chance to share their experiences on the topics discussed. Crea!Empresa aims to transmit the entrepreneur spirit to the university community and to inform regarding new professional opportunities to research professionals.

The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation manages the transfer of knowledge, technology and innovation of the University of Barcelona. The promotion of the entrepreneur spirit and the support to entrepreneurs of the UB is carried out through the consulting group for companies of the Foundation currently under creation: Business Centre Area (ACE). Since its creation in 2001, ACE has successfully carried to term over 50 patent transfer projects for the UB, has served as adviser in over 70 projects, and has raised more than 8.5 million Euros for the companies it has advised in public aid, capital risk and others sources of investment for the companies it has served.
