The PCB becomes the home of the new Chair of Entrepreneurship of the UB

Since the end of April, the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) has been home to the new Chair of Entrepreneurship of the University of Barcelona (UB). The Chair is led by Professor Jaume Valls and promoted jointly by the UB and the Banco Santander. Its aims are to promote an entrepreneurial culture at the University, organize different activities to improve the preparation and training of students who are interested, and to encourage research in this field.

All the activities the Chair promotes are jointly undertaken with the Business Centre of the Fundació Bosch i Gimpera, which is also located in the PCB. At present, apart from organizing workshops and seminars, the Chair plays an active role in preparing the 2008-2009 master’s degree in Creation and Administration of Innovative and Technology-based Businesses, which the UB plans to start in September.

The new Chair is located on the 4th floor of the Torre D building. Present at the official inauguration were, Jaume Valls, Professor of Business Organization and the director of the new Chair of Entrepreneurship; Aïda Bravo, a lecturer from the Department of Economics and Business Organization of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies at the UB, who is in charge of Technical Management of the new Chair; Roser Artal, managing director of the PCB; and Mercè Colom, the director of the PCB Operations Department.
