The Parc Científic de Barcelona and the René Descartes University of Paris hold their first joint symposium on biomedicine

Researchers at the Parc Científic de Barcelona and the René Descartes University of Paris are to participate in the on biomedicine, which will be held on 3 and 4 February. This multidisciplinary initiative will include presentations on the research performed in the two institutions with the aim to promote future collaboration. The symposium, which is open all those interested and is free of charge, will be held in the Fèlix Serratosa Room of the PCB (c/ Josep Samitier, 1-5).

The opening session of the symposium will be held on 3 February and will involve: Màrius Rubiralta, rector of the UB; Fernando Albericio, director of the PCB; and Arnau Ducruix, director of the Crystallography and Biological NMR Unit of the Institut des Sciences du Médicament (IFR71). The conference programme will include presentations by scientists conducting research at the interface between biology and chemistry, and in molecular biology, cell biology and medicinal chemistry.

Among the researchers at the PCB, the symposium will include the participation of scientists at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB), the Institut de Biologia Molecular de Barcelona (IBMB-CSIC) and the enterprises Advancell, Merck and CrystaX. Moreover, researchers at the René Descartes University of Paris will also participoate in this event. These scientists are from five instituts fédératifs de recherché, French institutions, located in the same geographic location, that group the laboratories of several organizations that work in a common field and thus converge the distinct institutional agents involved in strategic scientific projects.
