The Gaem Foundation has been awarded in the 2nd edition of the ‘Somos Pacientes” Awards

The ‘Múltiple Esclerosis online’ portal (ME online) of the GAEM Foundation (Group Affected by Multiple Sclerosis), based at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), has been one of the five projects winners in the second edition of the awards 'Somos Pacientes' (We are Patients), that recognize the effort, dedication, talent and imagination of patient associations to provide assistance, services and solutions to their partners, members and society in general.

The portal ‘EM en línea‘ (Multiple Sclerosis on Line) offered by GAEM, has won the ‘Best Web Development or Application’ award in the Patient Category. It is a free-access 2.0 health and wellness webpage that offers people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS), as well as their families and people involved in this pathology, the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the disease. In addition, the portal promotes and boosts research and knowledge on MS in society in general and offers social care and advice to patients and families on various topics, including: scientific research, psychology and psychiatry, disease-related conditions and direct patient care.

Somos Pacientes awards are offered by the Farmaindustria Foundation through the online community of patients and people with disabilities Somos Pacientes, which brings together more than 1,650 entities and offers a shared space of information, participation, training, services and collaborative work to all these organizations.

The award presenting ceremony of the II edition of these awards closed the IV Somos Pacientes workshop. The event – presided over by the Secretary General of Health and Consumer Affairs, Javier Castrodeza – was held in the auditorium of the Madrid Architects Association, and brought together more than 200 representatives of patient associations and other individuals with disabilities, professional groups, health public administrations and pharmaceutical companies, among others.
