The Barcelona Science Park launches the 13th edition of BATX2LAB

El Barcelona Science Park (PCB) is organizing for the third year in a row a new edition of BATX2LAB, a tutoring program for research projects undertaken by secondary school students. An informative session will be held on 26 April at 16.00 hours at the PCB´s Auditorium aimed at the teaching stuff of students interested in participating in the program. At this session, teachers will be informed of how the program works and the specific research areas of the scientists who will serve as tutors in this year´s edition.

The program offers junior-high students the possibility of doing the practical part of their research work at PCB laboratories tutored by a researcher, and ends with the presentation of 3 awards to the best projects.

In addition, the winners will have their own stand at the Live Research Fair that this year is taking place from 3 to May at Cosmocaixa Barcelona– together with 11 groups of prestigious institutions from all over Catalonia, to inform visitors to the fair of the results of their research studies.

BAT2LAB is part of the Research in Society Programme, an initiative by the Barcelona Science Park to promote dialogue between citizens and researchers and to promote vocations among young people, one of its strategic lines since 2003.

At present, the program brings together more than 100 activities in which approximately 5,000 people take part each year. In 2016 it was recognized with the Seal of Educational Quality granted by the Barcelona Educational Coordination Council (acronym in Spanish CCP).
