simoG and UAO support the ‘video-curriculum’ initiative to boost the entry of students into the labor market

simoG –a company based at the Barcelona Science Park- and theAbat Oliba University (UAO), presented last Wednesday the "multimedia curriculum and videopresentation initiative " as a tool to boost employment opportunities and job placement of students. simoG will give UAO students the chance to create their own work presentation video and will provide the university with a platform where students will be able to demonstrate their training and expectations in an "online" curriculum for submission to companies.

According to the founder of simoG, Louis Gomis Soler, in this way students of the university will have advantage over other candidates during the selection process, as this format is “closer, provides detailed information, presents the candidate as he or she really is, eliminates borders, and allows more visibility on social networks”.

The presentation took place during the Second Conference on Professional Guidance, where teachers and coordinators of the UAO, along with other guests, showed students different tools to add value to their curricula, such as language skills or certifications and skills.

The event was attended by the rector of the UAO, Carlos Perez del Valle; the director of Practicum Classes and Job Placement Division of the UAO and co-director of the Observatory of Labor of the UAO, Olga Lasaga; the director general of PUE – Certiuni Jose Antonio Ufani; the director of the Language Services of the UAO, Yvonne Escarpenter; and the founder partner of simoG, Louis Gomis Soler. After the presentation, students attended the workshops “How to make a video-resume” and “Work and Interculturality and Opportunities beyond our borders’.
