Registration open for the 10th edition of the Summer School on Medicines

The 10th Summer School on Medicines (SSM10) will be held in Brazil, in Ribeirão Preto (São Paulo), from March 16–23. The Barcelona Science Park collaborates one more year in this initiative –one of the most innovative and results-oriented programs offered internationally in pharmaceutical sector– organised by the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Biocat, la Université de Montréal (UdeM) i la Universitat Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier.

 

The Summer School on Medicines (SSM) is one of the most interdisciplinary and results-oriented training initiatives in the pharmaceutical field.The program offers a 50 hours of training on drug discovery, development and market access. One full week of presentations and direct interactions with academic faculty and industry experts, covering the whole value chain of medicines “from target to market”. The faculty members are leaders in their field and and provide knowledge, critical vision and experience as a result of a solid track record in the scientific field, government agencies and biopharmaceutical industry in different countries.

Each year since 2009, the SSM has involved more than 60 students, professors and research companies, bringing the opportunity to learn about drug discovery process in a multicultural context. The participants come from Canada, France, Spain, Brazil and many other countries.

Previously, the Summer School on Medicines has alternated between the cities of Barcelona (Catalonia), Montréal (Canada) and Toulouse (France), but now São Paulo (Brazil) will be taking its turn in 2018, hosting SSM10.

The University of São Paulo (USP) and the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) can provide full sponsorships (flight tickets, accommodation and feeding) or partial sponsorships (accommodation and feeding) to selected candidates from any country (except students from Ribeirão Preto). More information [+]

The University of Barcelona also offers fellowships for doctoral students throught the Institute of Biomedicine (IBUB) and the Doctoral School UB (EDUB). Each student requesting fellowship should fulfill the selection criteria and send the fellowship application along with the documentation requested. More information [+]
