PCB Hosts Career Orientation Event for Young Researchers

The Barcelona Science Park (PCB) is holding a career orientation event for graduates and current students on Wednesday, 25 February, as part of the 7th Young Researchers Conference. The event, which aims to provide participants with information on career opportunities in the sciences, will be held from noon to 2 pm in the Fèlix Serratosa Conference Room (Baldiri Reixac, 10). Admission is free, but advanced booking is required.

Participating in the event will be professionals in the sciences who have pursued diverse careers, including work in university laboratories, research management, technology transfer, communications, R+D entrepreneurship and private business. The list of professionals attending features Rosina Malagrida, Director of the Communication and Scientific Diffusion Department at the PCB; Lluís Ribas, ICREA researcher and founder of the biotech firm Omnia Molecular; Maribel Bergés, Director of the Business Centre of the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation; Maribel Geli, IBMB-CSIC researcher; Jesús Purroy, Director of Research and Innovation at the PCB; and Maria Rodríguez Palmero, researcher at the Ordesa laboratory at the PCB.

The session is structured in two parts. The first part runs from noon to 1 pm and speakers will offer a brief overview of their career path, explaining what they do and what led them to choose this direction. Running from 1 pm to 2 pm, the second part will offer a more informal environment in which light refreshments will be served and each speaker will respond personally to any questions or remarks made by participants.

Information from the event will be available at www.pcb.ub.es/perspectivasprofesionales/, including a summary of the day’s proceedings, the speakers’ remarks, and an opportunity to exchange impressions through a discussion forum.
