PCB holds a meeting for representatives of the science parks and incubators that participate in the European project NATIBS

How can small and medium-sized biotech companies participate in European projects? How can collaboration between these enterprises and researchers from the public sector be promoted in the framework of European research?

On Friday 11 February, the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB, Barcelona Science Park) will host the second meeting of the European project NATIBS (New Approaches and Tools for Incubated Biotech SMEs). The meeting, which will be attended by representatives form several science parks and incubators of biotech enterprises, will address the development of mechanisms that facilitate the access of biotech spin-offs to the VI European Union Framework Programme.

In addition to the PCB, which participates in this project through the CIDEM-PCB Bioincubator, in collaboration with the Innovation Centre of the Fundació Bosch i Gimpera, the meeting will include presentations by the BioTOP and the BerlinBuch of Berlin, the Novum Research Park Incubator in Sweden, the Genopole Evry in France, the TTU Innovations Centre in Estonia and the Rad Ramon RAD Biomed in Israel.

Furthermore, the event will include a meeting with spin-off enterprises at the PCB, such as Advancell, CrystaX Pharmaceuticals and Enantia, with the aim to exchange experiences in European project participation. In this regard, the NATIBS project will build a European data base of spin-offs. The aim of this initiative is to promote collaboration and strategic agreements between these enterprises in order to promote their participate in networks of excellence and in integrated projects included in the VI Framework Programme.
