Open application period for the Antoni Caparrós and Senén Vilaró Awards 2015

The Board of Trustees of the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (FBG), located at PCB, announce the new edition of  the Antoni Caparrós Award, to the best project of transferring knowledge, and the Senén Vilaró Award, to the best innovative firm created by a UB graduate or affiliated with the UB Group. The deadline for applications is 31 May.

The Antoni Caparrós and Senén Vilaró Awards seek to encourage the transfer of knowledge acquired through studies and research; to appreciate the importance of technology, knowledge and innovation transfer projects; to enhance the creation of innovative knowledge-based companies; to recognise the innovative capacity generated, and to promote entrepreneurial culture at universities.

In 2014, the Senén Vilaró Prize for the best innovative company has been conferred on Endor Nanotechnologies, a biotechnology company based at PCB.

The company SIRUSA and the UB research group Design and Optimization of Processes and Materials (DIOPMA) have developed a twenty-year collaboration which received the Antoni Caparrós Prize for the best project of knowledge transfer. The second Antoni Caparrós Prize was given to a training program on organ donation and transplantation led by Martí Manyalich, lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the UB, president of the DTI Foundation – Donation & Transplantation Institute, located at PCB.
