Inaugural symposium of the IBUB to be held on 8th May

The inaugural symposium of the Institute of Biomedicine of the University of Barcelona (), is to be held in the Aula Magna of the university's Biology Faculty (Av. Diagonal, 625) on 8th May. The title of the symposium is "Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research in the XXI Century." Renowned scientists in the field from all around the world will take part in the event. Entrance is free. The IBUB will be moving into the Helix Building of the Barcelona Science Park in the near future


The participants in the symposium include John E. Walker, Nobel laureate in chemistry, (University of Cambridge), Ginés Morata from the “Severo Ochoa” Centre for Molecular Biology UAM-CSIC (Madrid), Ernst Hafen (Swiss Federal Technology Institute; ETH, Zürich), Maria Blasco (Spanish National Cancer Research Centre; CNIO, Madrid), Jan Balzarini (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven) and Hannelore Daniel (University of Munich).

The IBUB brings together scientists from different disciplines with the aim of promoting interaction among them and thereby furthering multidisciplinary and integrated biomedical research.
