Bioengineer Alicia Canals, of the IBEC, participates in the exhibition titled “16 Catalan Women Scientists”

Bioengineer Alicia Canals, group leader of the Robotics research group of the Bioengineering Institute of Catalonia (IBEC), based at the Barcelona Science Park, is one of the researchers who has participated in the exhibition titled "16 Catalan Women Scientists", which was inaugurated today, May 18, in the Polivalente Hall of the North Campus of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). The exhibition –which aims to bring the female presence in science closer to society-, is organized by the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication (ACCC) with the support of the Department of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise of the Generalitat and the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). The inaugural conference –titled "Professional Life and Personal Life"- will be organized by Alicia Casals, and presented by Marisol Marqués, vice-rector of Institutional Relations of the UPC. PhD fellowship researcher Ester Añón will also participate in the conference by explaining the difficulties encountered by a young female researcher when she wishes to work in the field of research
