Barcelona hosts the first international congress on nanotechnology

International expert scientists and politicians will meet starting today May 26 and up until Friday May 28 at the International Conventions Centre of Barcelona, in the first edition of the Gennesys International Congress on Nanotechnology and Research Infrastructures.

Organized by the Research Park of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Institute of Materials Science Barcelona, the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory and the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchroton, the congress is framed within the Spanish Presidency of the European Union. The objective of this event is to establish strategic collaborations between laboratories that conduct research on nanomaterials, universities, the industry and European research infrastructures.

Josep Samitier, professor of the School of Physics of the University of Barcelona, coordinator of the Spanish Nanomedicine Platform and associate director of the Bioengineering Institute of Catalonia (IBEC), based at the Barcelona Science Park, is one of the guests at this event.
