Marta Príncep joins the Fundació GAEM to lead the acceleration of projects in multiple sclerosis

The Fundació Gaem –located at the Parc Científic de Barcelona– has enrolled the services of Marta Príncep as head of the acceleration of projects for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, which aims to identify university projects with possibilities of success, improve such projects with the help from mentors and the foundation´s own scientific committee and seek funding for its development and application in industry. Dr. Príncep, who currently holds the position of director of the Technology Department of Bellavista Legal – a comprehensive consultancy firm for technology companies and organizations- will combine this responsibility with her new role at the Fundació GAEM.


Dr. Marta Príncep holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona and completed ESADE´s Executive AMP. She also attended the Wharton School of Pennsylvania. Her career is closely associated with an extensive experience in international joint ventures leadership and technology management and in R + D + i. Dr. Príncep held positions at Adventures & Mentor Capital as VP of Operations, at Biocat as Director of Innovation and member of the Board of Directors and she also worked at Grupo Ferrer International, where she was head of the Department of Pharmacology in the Nervous System.

The Fundació Gaem ( from the Spanish acronym Group Affected by Multiple Sclerosis) is an in dependent non-profit patient support organization whose mission is to promote biomedical research work with the hope of finding therapeutic solutions for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. It was created in 2007 from the GAEM Association created in 2003 and is chaired by Vicens Oliver, who has been suffering from the disease since 1993. The organization is funded through the presentation of projects to public and private calls, collaborating companies and sponsors as well as through private donations. The foundations is committed to support affected individuals and their families, to spread the knowledge on the disease and to raise awareness in society in general.
