Barcelona, world capital of Youth Science

The first edition of the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge (BIYSC) will be held in Barcelona from the 11 to the 22 of July. BIYSC is an international program of excellence for young individuals with a passion for science organized by Fundació Catalunya–La Pedrera with the support of the Fundació Víctor Grífols i Lucas and the collaboration of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB). This pioneering initiative in our country aims at stimulating the talent of future scientist around the world and get them in touch with leading investigators from international research centres in  Barcelona.

 

BIYSC offers100 young people aged between 16 and 19 the chance to work in English, side by side with researchers of the 10 most prestigious centers of Catalonia, and become face to face with the different challenges that science and technology brings everyday; attend scientific conferences, debates and seminars given by the leading scientists of the groups; and share two weeks with young people around the world for years who have been enthusiastic about science, among other activities.

The Fundació Catalunya–La Pedrera, along with the Fundació Víctor Grifols, gives scholarships to those local students with difficulties to meet the cost of tuition, who have completed enrollment and have applied for student financial aid before 18 March 2016 at: contact@biysc.org
