Yesterday, February 7, the V International Symposium of the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) of the UB on the challenges in the energy sector took place at he Barcelona Science Park. The previous day, the Foundation for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (Funseam), which analyzes and shares the results of the research of the Chair of Energy Sustainability of the UB, had also organized its V International Symposium at PCB with the participation from public officers and businesspeople from the main firms of this sector.

Decentralization of social policies debated in the 3rd Symposium on Fiscal Federalism, organized by the IEB Blog Post

On Thursday 28 October, the will be held in the auditorium at the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB, Barcelona Science Park). This symposium will address the decentralization of social policies in response to the challenges of the welfare state. The conference, organized by the Barcelona Institute of Economics ( ), a group at the Universitat de Barcelona and linked to the PCB, aims to identify the main arguments in favour and against the decentralization of social policies and to analyse the experiences of several countries in order to establish guidelines for Spain.

The IEB organizes a conference to debate the energy market Blog Post

The Barcelona Institute of Economics (), part of the UB and located at the Parc Científic de Barcelona, will organize a conference entitled “Gas and Electricity: Towards a European Energy Regulator?” Sponsored by the European Commission and Gas Natural SDG, this conference aims to debate the reform of the energy market, which is currently being restructured both at national and European level. Directed particularly at representatives from the energy sector, regulatory agencies and economists, this event will be held on 22 and 23 September in the Auditorium in the Mapfre Tower in Barcelona.

More than one hundred people participate in the institutional event marking the 20th anniversary of the Barcelona Science Park Blog Post

Today, the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) held the institutional event commemorating its 20th anniversary at the Antoni Caparrós auditorium, thus bringing the activities scheduled to mark this milestone to a close. The event, chaired by the rector of the Universitat de Barcelona, Joan Elias, was attended by more than one hundred people from the worlds of academia, science, business and government.

The Barcelona Science Park is set to have a strong presence at BioSpain 2018 Blog Post

From 25 to 27 September, the FIBES Exhibition Congress Centre in Seville will be the venue for BioSpain 2018, one of the the largest biotech event in Europe and the fifth most important event in the world in terms of number of partnering meetings. This 9th edition of the event is being organised by the Spanish Bioindustry Association (ASEBIO) together with the Regional Government of Andalusia, through the IDEA Agency. Nearly one hundred companies and institutions from the BioRegion of Catalonia – including the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) and a large number of entities located in the Park – have confirmed their attendance at the fair, which is held every two years in a different Spanish city.
