8th Call for the Practicum Programme entitled “Spend the summer at the Park”

The period for the submission of applications to participate at the Practicum Programme entitled "Spend the summer at the Park" aimed at second-cycle students will open on the 16th of March and will run through the 16th of April. The objective of this initiative, organised by the Barcelona Science Park, is to bring the world of research closer to students of all universities through their participation in projects performed by the research groups, research centres and companies located at the PCB. .

The practicum classes will be carried out in groups that focus their activity in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology or chemistry, as well as in areas relating to social and human sciences. The placement period will last from two to three months, between the months of July and September. Students who complete the placement period will receive an accreditation certificate from the PCB. This year selected students will receive a stipend of 150 Euros per month.

This year, it will be the 8th consecutive time that the Barcelona Science Park offers this academic opportunity. Nearly 200 students, of more than 500 applicants, have participated in previous editions of the stay. According to an assessment survey of the programme, both participating students and tutors alike have manifested their satisfaction with this collaboration initiative, a fact that is corroborated by the close contact that students maintain with the research groups they collaborated with after completion of their placement period. In addition, this year, students who participated in previous stays or who have worked or work in research groups located at the Barcelona Science Park have defended their doctoral thesis.
