The Wall Lab program decorates one of the exterior walls of the Helix building with a work about the nano universe

A new edition of the Wall Lab program will be held on 23 and 24 December at the Barcelona Science Park. This edition, promoted by the Wallspot platform and produced by the cultural entity Rebobinart, aims to promote and give visibility to the essential tasks carried out by the Park and its community. The Barcelona Science Park has been betting on a fusion of art and science for years, which is why this time Bemie, an artist from the platform, has been selected to execute a medium-format mural in a of the outer walls of the Helix building.

Urban artist Bemie will be in charge of painting a work under the theme of the nano universe, offering an increasing look at the microscopic composition of the human body. The Barcelona Science Park is working on bioengineering for health, trying to understand the world of small things to try to help find solutions to big problems, from COVID19, to cancer or Alzheimer’s, being the research center Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia one of the major players in this research. And to do that, sometimes small organoids, tiny nanoparticles, or even molecules are created. The aim of the mural, then, is to bring the essential field of scientific research closer to the population through art, showing it in an accessible and understandable way.

Wall Lab is an artistic professionalization program promoted by Wallspot that offers long-lasting murals in the city while providing new artistic content while revitalizing the urban space. This edition will be developed thanks to the collaboration of the Barcelona Les Corts District , the Barcelona Science Park and Montana Colors.
