The AQR-IREA group presents a study on ” The impact of the renovation construction work carried out in the Gran Via and Plaza Europa”

The UB Regional Quantitative Analysis Research Group of the Research Institute of Applied Economics (AQR-IREA), an organization linked to the Barcelona Science Park, has conducted a study titled "Economic impact of the renovation construction work carried out in the Gran Via and Plaza Europa of Hospitalet". The report, assigned by the Consortium for the Renovation of the Gran Via of Hospitalet, has described, on the one hand, the effects derived from urbanization and construction of the Plaza Europa and, on the other, the effects deriving from the square's future economic and residential activity. In order to assess these effects, the total economic impact of previous actions on four key variables has been estimated. These variables are, in macroeconomic terms: production, gross value added, wage earners and employment.
