The 1st Summer School on Medicines starts

The 1st edition of "Summer School on Medicines" (SSM1), which will take place at the French Institute of Barcelona over the course of two weeks, until Friday September 18, was inaugurated today. This initiative aims to bring PhD and post-doctoral students and researchers closer to the different aspects of the process that takes place when an idea is transformed into a drug in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological sectors. The School includes visits to pharmaceutical companies and Science Parks in Barcelona and Toulouse.


The opening ceremony has been graced by the presence of Jordi Quintana, organizer and chairman of the SSM scientific committee; Pierre Raynaud, director of the French Institute, Fernando Albericio, general director of the Barcelona Science Park, Jordi Vaquer, director of the Center for International Studies of Barcelona and representatives from the French consulate in Barcelona.

A team of 40 teachers and students from six countries and eleven nationalities will participate in this initiative. The second edition of the SSM will take place in Toulouse (France).
