Statement from the Barcelona Science Park, Biocat and several entities located at the PCB in support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in the face of Russia’s invasion

The Barcelona Science Park, Biocat and the organisations at the PCB issue the following statement in support of the Ukrainian people in the face of the Russian invasion:

We condemn an unjustified military intervention by the Russian army against the Ukrainian civilian population, which began last Thursday 24 February and has already caused hundreds of civilian and military victims.

We join the many demands of the international community, especially in the European Union and the United Nations, for an end to the violence on Ukrainian territory, the de-escalation of the conflict and the return to diplomatic channels and dialogue.

We call attention as an academic, research and innovation community to the enormous loss of lives and the social, environmental and economic impact of this devastating attack, and the effect on the academic and innovation community in Ukraine and Russia in particular, and across Europe in general.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, as there is no possible justification for the use of military aggression as an instrument for resolving territorial disputes, which is contrary to international law and human rights.
