Barcelona Science Park launches photo contest at Instagram “Un dia al PCB… i a casa!” Blog Post

Barcelona Science Park (PCB) presents “Un dia al PCB… i a casa!” (One day at PCB and at home), a special edition of its traditional photo contest “Un dia al PCB”, now adapted to the new situation provoked by the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic. As every year, the contest invites our community to present pictures of people, places and situations related to the Park but, this time now, also pictures of work life at home, that has become our temporary workplace.

GlyCardial Diagnostics has won the  the EmprendedorXXI Award in the ‘Health Tech’ category, one of the six awards granted in its twelfth year to recognize those companies in Spain and Portugal with greatest growth potential in several sectors linked to the new innovation trends. The winners have been selected from 961 companies in Spain and Portugal. The biotechnology company, headquartered in the Barcelona Science Park, adds this award to the EmprendedorXXI Award in Catalonia, which it received on 9 May.

 

The Barcelona Science Park launches the 15th edition of BATX2LAB Blog Post

The Barcelona Science Park has just opened the registration for the 15th edition of BATX2LAB, which offers High School students the chance to carry out the practical part of their research project in the PCB laboratories under the tutorship of a scientist. This initiative is part of PCB’s Research in Society programme –a proposal to bring science to citizens and promote research careers in young student– that offers over 100 activities in which around 5,000 people participate every year.

 

Whole Genix receives the 2019 ‘Medicina Siglo XXI’ Award for Medical Innovation Blog Post

The company Whole Genix, based in the Barcelona Science Park, received the 2019 ‘Medicina Siglo XXI’ Award in the Medical Innovation category during the gala marking the II edition of these prizes, held on Friday in Hotel Arts in Barcelona. With these awards, the editorial group El Suplemento aims to value the professional, scientific and innovative talent of professionals who work for and for health in various specialties and from different Spanish cities.

The awards of the Board of Trustees of the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation for the transfer of knowledge and the creation of innovative companies celebrate their twelfth edition. These awards aim to promote the return to society of the knowledge acquired through study and research, to stress the importance of technology, knowledge, and innovation transfer projects, and to foster the creation of innovative companies and entrepreneurial culture within the UB Group. The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation is the technology transfer office of the UB since 1983 and is based in the Barcelona Science Park.

 

The PCB’s BATX2LAB receives the Barcelona Education Innovation Award Blog Post

Barcelona Science Park’s BATX2LAB programme has been chosen as the winner of the Barcelona Education Innovation Award in the High School category, in the first edition of these awards, created by Barcelona City Council to offer recognition to altruistic initiatives for educational innovation and change carried out by schools and organisations in the city to strengthen training opportunities and social inclusion.

 

The Fem Talent 2018 Awards recognize Judit Anido and ProteoDesign Blog Post

Two companies based in the Barcelona Science Park have been recognized in this year’s edition of the Fem Talent awards. Dr Judit Anido, co-founder and CEO of Mosaic Biomedicals, has received the “Emerging Talent” award, and the company ProteoDesign –created by Silvia Frutos, Miquel Vila-Perelló, Silvia Frutos, Marc Montserrat and Tom W. Muir– has been a finalist in the ‘Organisation with Fem Talent Values’ category.
