Barcelona Science Park collaborates in this initiative within the strategic agreement set on last January with IESE to promote and support the growth of business initiatives of life sciences.

Droplite, located in the Parc Cientific de Barcelona (PCB), has recently started the industrial design and manufacturing development of its smart diagnostics device, focused on point of care (POC). The company, that it was born in 2018, as a spinoff of the Institute of Photonics Sciences (ICFO), from the hand of two entrepreneurs: André Guedes (CEO) and Rafael Porcar (CTO), was recognized with the Seal of Excellence by the European Union and with the Innovative SME seal from the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Barcelona Science Park (PCB) announces a new artistic intervention contest to promote the interaction between art and science. The public and anonymous event offers the opportunity to create, with total thematic freedom, a mural in an outdoor space of 4.5 metres of height per 6.5 metres of width in the Clúster II building, in a junction of various areas of the park at different levels.

GlyCardial Diagnostics, based in the Barcelona Science Park, announces the appointment of Prof. Juan Carlos Kaski as Chief Medical Officer. The company –a spinoff of the Research Institute of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (IR-HSCSP) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), is conducting a clinical trial to validate the performance of Apo J-Glyc as a novel biomarker for the early detection of Myocardial Ischaemia.

Nostrum Biodiscovery wins the 2019 of Senén Vilaró Prize for best innovative company Blog Post

Nostrum Biodiscovery (NBD), located at the Barcelona Science Park, has won the “2019 Senén Vilaró Prize for best innovative company”, one of the four awards conferred by the Board of Trustees of the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (FBG). The ceremony for the awards was held yesterday at the Aula Magna of the Historical Building of the UB.

 

Droplite gets €236,000 from the Neotec programme and the European Commission’s Seal of Excellence Blog Post

DROPLITE, a spin-off from the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) located in the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), has won a €236,000 grant from the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) in the latest NEOTEC. The company has also earned the European Commission’s Seal of Excellence, which is awarded to start-ups that have first-class innovation ideas with great potential to open up new markets.
