IINSA·UB researchers named members of the AESAN Scientific Committee

Two researchers from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety of the University of Barcelona ( ) –which is an associate of the Barcelona Science Park– have been named as members of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN). The two are: Albert Bosch, the head of the Enteric Virus Group who was already a member of the committee and has had his place renewed; and M. Carme Vidal, head of the Food Amines and Polyamines Group, who joins the committee for the first time.

The Scientific Committee of AESAN is responsible for providing the necessary scientific advice for the Agency to carry out its remit, by issuing reports from the group of experts.

The committee currently has 20 members who are recognised experts in areas related to food safety: Food Toxicology; Microbiology, Virology, Parasitology and Food Zoonoses; Human and Animal Epidemiology; Biotechnology and Genetic Modification; Immunology and Allergies; Human Nutrition; Pharmacology; Food Technology Processes; and Analysis and Instrumentation.
