La Marató de TV3 provides funding for a project from the Combinatorial Chemistry Unit at PCB Blog Post

Yesterday, Tuesday November 12, the Biomedical Research Park of Barcelona hosted the grant award ceremony for the projects that have been awarded financial support from the funds raised by the La Marató de TV3 2012 call, which was dedicated to cancer research. The Combinatorial Chemistry Unit (UQC-PCB) at the Parc Científic de Barcelona has been one of the beneficiaries of the funds for a project on personalized nanomedicine for breast cancer. The project will be developed in collaboration with the Nanobiotechnology research group of the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the CIBBIM – Nanomedicine from the Vall d’ Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). The new therapy can help overcome multidrug resistance characteristic of breast cancer stem cells.

A group of executives who are ex-alumni of the “Senior Management Programme” (PADE 2009) offered by the Business Management School of the University of Navarra (IESE) paid a visit to the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) last Friday January 29 to gain deeper insight into the project and its expansion plans. The visit is part of the meetings that are regularly organized by the ex-alumni of this programme and in this occasion it responded to an initiative of Giorgio Maritan, an ex-alumnus of this class and currently the general director of EYYTOO Bioscience, a company that has been recently incorporated to the PCB-Santander Bioincubator, located at the PCB.

The Barcelona Science Park (PCB) is an accredited provider for the Innovation Coupons programme, an initiative of ACCIÓ –the Catalan Government Agency for Business Competitiveness– for companies with 5–100 employees that want to carry out an innovative project, be it an improvement in a production process or a new service, product or business model. The 2018 call is now open and the deadline for submission ends on November 27.
