The Pact for the Industry urges Catalan Parliament groups to promote the creation of a national agreement

This morning, at the Auditorium of the University of Barcelona and under the theme "The industry cannot wait", representatives of the financial and social agents of the Pact for the Industry in Catalonia (Más Industria) have addressed  parliamentary groups of the Catalan Parliament to promote an initiate to promote a national act or a program agreement for the industry.

The event has been chaired by top representatives from trade unions, employer´s organizations, proffessional colleges and boards, and universities that integrate the  Más Industria (More Industry) social platform, with the presence of the parliamentary groups  of Junts pel Sí, Ciudadanos, PSC, Catalunya Sí que es Pot, and Partido Popular de Cataluña.

The statement submitted urges the first legislative body of Catalonia to promote a parliamentary initiative that will establish the framework for political policy and social dialogue, and a long-term roadmap to examine the relaunching of the Catalan economy following an industrial approach. Furthermore, the statement asks for the creation of a national pact or programmatic agreement encompassing not only specific industry policy programs, but also a set of transverse measures in all governmental areas. The aim of this pact is to mobilize investment in infrastructures in the areas of production, professional training and university education, research centers and technology transfer, and a support energy model to encourage the growth of the business fabric.

The Pact for the industry in California, created in December 2012, is composed by trade unions CCOO and UGT, the employer´s organizations Fomento del Trabajo Nacional and PIMEC, the universities UB, UAB and UPC, and the Colleges of Economists, Technical Industrial Engineers and Industrial Engineers of Catalonia.
