Dreamers Startup Ventures has committed to invest up to $1.1M in Oncoheroes Biosciences, a biotech company exclusively focused on the development of innovative medicines to treat cancer in children and adolescents. Oncoheroes was co-founded by Ricardo Garcia and Cesare Spadoni, two parents touched by childhood cancer and determined to change the outlook for these young patients. Founded at Boston, the company has the European headquarters at the Barcelona Scientific Park where its discovery lab looks for novel targets and molecules.

La farmacèutica Aerie Pharmaceuticals, que cotitza al Nasqad, ha annunciat l’adquisició d’Avizorex Pharma (AVX Pharma), amb seu al Parc Científic de Barcelona, per un import de 10 millones de dòlares. Representatives of 64 Spanish science and technology parks met on 24 and 25 October in Gran Canaria as part of the second annual assembly of the Spanish Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE). The Horizon 2020 project BERMES aimed to develop a novel therapy for malignant mesothelioma, lead by the catalan biotech company Aromics, was recognized as one of the most innovative initiatives at the Sino-Europe Innovation Week of Health Technology which was held from 12th to 16th October at two of the most technological and powerful cities in China: Nanjing and Shanghai. The biotechnology company, located at the Barcelona Science Park, participated in the event as part of a mission organized by the BioRegion of Catalonia to explore new opportunities for collaboration with Chinese companies and institutions and to learn about the experience of other European clusters in the Asian giant.
