Barcelona Science Park and IESE sign an agreement to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem for medical devices

The Barcelona Science Park and IESE Business School have struck a strategic partnership that seeks to promote and reinforce the entrepreneurial ecosystem of life sciences, particularly in the field of medical devices. The initial objective of the collaboration will be to establish an exchange and knowledge network between the communities of the two institutions, which shall materialise through a variety of joint initiatives.

The Barcelona Science Park and IESE Business School, with campuses in various countries, have signed a framework collaboration agreement to promote and support the growth of business initiatives in the fields of life sciences and health across Europe.

In virtue of this agreement, which was signed in November, both institutions undertake to establish a working relationship conceived to organise training and networking activities in this sector, with a special focus on the field of medical devices.

Specifically – and under the coordination of Luca Venza, Director of Technology Innovation, Transfer & Acceleration at IESE Business School– the participation of the members from both institutions will be fostered in various activities such as seminars, training days, workshops and debating panels.

PCB and IESE will also promote other initiatives aimed at creating a solid collaboration network between members of their respective communities, with a view to exchanging knowledge and experiences via IESE Healthcare Club. The agreement is also conceived to facilitate the access PCB entities, such as the Finaves seed capital fund or the Business Angels Network, have to IESE investment vehicles.

IESE Business School, the University of Navarre’s business management school, was founded in 1958. With headquarters in Barcelona, Madrid, New York and Munich and an office in Sao Paolo, the IESE has 14 research centres and 25 professorships held by internationally renowned professionals, as well as innovative training programmes for executives in Europe, Asia, America and Africa that can have a positive impact on society. Since its foundation, the IESE has educated more than 50,000 professionals from all over the world and has been recognised, for the fifth year running, as the world’s best business school for executive education according to the Financial Times.
