The at the Barcelona Science Park, managed by Michael Borras, is one of three partners of the European consortium that will implement the “COPONAMRI” project, the aim of which is to develop a new generation of magnetic nanoparticles for biomedical applications. The initiative has a budget of € 120,000 and is funded by the European Union (within the framework of the call ERA.Net RUS – Pilot Joint Call for Collaborative S & T Projects). The initiative also includes the participation of the , led by Yannick Guari, project coordinator; and the , led by Alexander Trifonov.

The research project “Technological development towards a self-sustaining urban water system” (SOSTAQUA), promoted by the Societat General d’Aigües de Barcelona (AGBAR), is among the 15 projects awarded funds by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce through the “National Consortia for Technical Research Programme” (Consorcios Estratégicos Nacionales de Investigación Técnica (CENIT)), which has just published a list of the projects approved in this second call. This project involves the Experimental Toxicology and Ecotoxicology Unit () of the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB)(Barcelona Science Park) and the Toxicology Unit of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Universitat de Barcelona(UB)(University of Barcelona).
