Neuroscience Technologies, winner of the first IID call Blog Post

The proposal presented by the EuroPain consortium – of which the company ––, located at the Barcelona Science Park, is a part of – won the first grant call of “Topic 9: Pain Research”, organized by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI). The project, titled “Understanding pain and improving its treatment” –which was selected out of a total of 13 proposals last March 26-, has a 5 year duration and a global budget of over 18 million euros. Its objective is to facilitate the development of new analgesics aimed at improving the treatment of patients with chronic pain, as well as to increase knowledge regarding the mechanisms involved in the development of pain.

Neuroscience Technologies has been selected to participate in the Global Growth Program Blog Post

The company –located at the Barcelona Science Park, and part of the – is included within the twenty Catalan technological companies selected to participate in the Global Growth Program (GGP’09), a training forum aimed at improving business management with a global approach: sales, alliances and financing. This initiative –consisting of three workshops, a networking event and a seminar on financing that will take place throughout 2009- has been launched by 22@ Barcelona and Barcelona Activa, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, ACC1Ó and the three universities present at the technological district: IL3 – the Institute for Lifelong Learning of the University of Barcelona (UB)-, the UPC Foundation and the Pompeu Fabra University.

The partners of the EuroPain Consortium met at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) on the 26th and 27th of October to kick off their project “Understanding pain and improving its treatment”, the aim of which is to foster the development of new analgesics to improve the treatment of patients with chronic pain and increase the knowledge on the mechanisms involved in its onset. This is a 5-year long initiative with an overall allocated budget in excess of 15 milions Euros.
