Ordesa opens new R&D centre at the PCB

The Ordesa Group has opened a new laboratory at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), where it will focus its efforts on researching new ingredients for children's food. The centre, which boasts a highly qualified multidisciplinary team of scientists, plans to undertake scientific collaborations and consortium projects with other research groups housed in the PCB.

Over the past twenty years, the Ordesa Group’s track record in R&D&I has steadily grown in strength. Significant investments have positioned it among the most innovative, most committed companies doing research in the area of child nutrition. It has successfully brought to market products that have gained widespread acceptance among paediatricians and pharmacists. In the year 2007 alone, the group devoted nearly three million euros to R&D&I. This figure represents more than 2.7% of its turnover, which is an impressively high percentage that situates the Ordesa Group among the companies most dedicated to research within the food sector in all Spain.

Taking up residence in the Helix Building of the Barcelona Science Park clearly points to Ordesa’s ongoing commitment to R&D&I, bringing the group into contact with start-of-the-art research and giving it the chance to build synergies with other research groups of widely acknowledged prestige and international renown. In addition, Ordesa can now gain access to leading-edge technologies provided by the PCB through the research support services offered there.
