SEA-PCB awarded the II Harlan Prize for research promoting the rational use of laboratory animals Blog Post

The Animal Experimentation Service of the Barcelona Science Park () has been awarded the II Harlan Prize for Innovation and Refinement in Animal Experimentation for research that developed a predictive mathematical model aimed at determining early stage gestations in mice. The prize, which is awarded by the Spanish Society for Laboratory Animal Sciences () in conjunction with the company Harlan Interfauna Ibérica, was officially presented during the IX SECAL Congress, held recently in the city of Cordoba.

The SEA-PCB incorporates a new biological containment module Blog Post

This week The Animal Experimentation Service of the Barcelona Science Park () has incorporated and started to use a new module for the housing and containment of laboratory animals. The module was installed in the Park’s Modular building. The acquisition of this new piece of equipment forms part of the ongoing actions undertaken to keep up the growth and rate of work at the SEA-PCB.

Conference on imaging techniques applied to research with laboratory animals Blog Post

To contribute to the rational and ethical use of research animals, the Animal Research Centre at the PCB () and the Animal Facilities at the Spanish National Cancer Centre () have organized a conference on non invasive techniques for use on experimental animals in order to obtain images in vivo. The conference will be held on Friday 26 November in the PCB Auditorium (c/Baldiri Reixac, 4-6).
