12th edition of «Live Research Fair» Blog Post

From 8 to 10 April, the Aula Capella of the Historic Building hosts the 12th , an initiative organised by the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB) and supported by the (UB) and . The main objective of the Fair is to show some research projects carried out at different Barcelona’s centres in order to bring society closer to research and foster young people’s interest in scientific vocations. The activity are part of PCB´s program , which offers more than 80 activities involving nearly 5,000 people each year.

The UTOX figures among the research projects selected in the second CENIT call Blog Post

The research project “Technological development towards a self-sustaining urban water system” (SOSTAQUA), promoted by the Societat General d’Aigües de Barcelona (AGBAR), is among the 15 projects awarded funds by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce through the “National Consortia for Technical Research Programme” (Consorcios Estratégicos Nacionales de Investigación Técnica (CENIT)), which has just published a list of the projects approved in this second call. This project involves the Experimental Toxicology and Ecotoxicology Unit () of the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB)(Barcelona Science Park) and the Toxicology Unit of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Universitat de Barcelona(UB)(University of Barcelona).

Advancell ushers in a new period with a renewed management team Blog Post

The managing director of the biotech company Advancell, Lluís Ruiz-Ávila, has announced that he will be leaving the management of the company at the end of the month. He will, however, maintain links with the company as a partner and strategic development consultant. This change in managing director coincides with a new period of expansion for Advancell, as laid out in the new Strategic Plan 2009-2013, which was presented recently.
