CataloniaBioHT participates in the Annual Advisory Committee of the Catalonia’s Cluster Programme Blog Post

Last Thursday, the president of CataloniaBio & HealthTech (CataloniaBioHT), Jaume Amat, participated in the Annual Advisory Committee of the Catalonia’s Cluster Programme, promoted by ACCIÓ, alongside the other presidents of the 30 accredited clusters. The association, founded in 2017 as a result of the merger of CataloniaBio and HeathTech Cluster and headquartered in the Barcelona Science Park, has over 160 companies and agents in the field of biomedicine and health.

CataloniaBio & HealthTech –the association of companies in the biomedicine and health arena in Catalonia, based in the Barcelona Science Park– and the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC), the largest association of medical technology companies in the United States, have signed an agreement to foster innovation and collaborations in business and research among their members.

Aromics, a biotech company located at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), has been awarded with 1,085.659€ from the European Union – through the SME instrument of the Horizon 2020 (H2020-EIC-SMEInst-2018-2020-Phase 2)– for the development of the BERMES project, whose objective is the completion of the regulatory preclinics of NAX035, an innovative therapy for the treatment of malignant mesothelioma, an aggressive and highly refractory tumor directly related to asbestos exposure.

World leaders in proteomics are meeting with local doctors and researchers today and tomorrow at CosmoCaixa Barcelona, in an event held by B·Debate, an initiative by Biocat and Obra Social ‘la Caixa’, co-organized in this edition by the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), ProteoRed-ISCIII, Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO). Four scientists of renowned prestige in this field –including Dr. Eliandre de Oliveira, head of the PCB’s Proteomics Platform– lead this debate.

Ahir, dimarts 8 de novembre es va celebrar al Parc Científic Barcelona “Outbound Missions”, la primera jornada de formació que es desenvolupa en el marc del projecte ABCEurope. L’objectiu de l’acte – organitzat conjuntament pel PCB i el Parc Tecnològic de Heidelberg– va estar revelar les claus per dur a terme amb èxit una missió comercial integrada per petites i mitjanes empreses biotec.

L’Espai Movistar, fins fa poc ubicat al Fòrum, s’instal·larà a partir del novembre al costat del nou Edifici Satèl·lit del Parc Científic de Barcelona, (PCB), concretament a la Plaça Bederrida, entre els carrers Pau Gargallo, Martí i Franquès, Baldiri i Reixach i Pascual Vila. El seu trasllat es va acordar en un conveni que la UB va signar a finals de juliol amb l’Ajuntament de Barcelona.
