The Regional Quantitative Analysis Research Group (AQR), part of the UB’s Research Institute of Applied Economics (IREA) and linked to the Barcelona Science Park, has elaborated the Statistical Annual Report of Sant Cugat. This tool, which is already available on the City Council’s official website, aims to provide a quantitative reflexion of the town’s economic, social and demographic reality.
L’Institut de Recerca en Economia Aplicada de la UB (UB-IREA) – ubicat al Parc Científic Barcelona –va organitzar ahir, 14 de març, a la Facultat d’Economia i Empresa, el seu IV Seminari Anual. En aquest Seminari els investigadors que en formen part de l’UB-IREA van presentar i posar en comú els últims avenços en la recerca que duen a terme en els seus camps respectius. Enguany, com a ponent convidat, va intervenir, el cap de la Divisió de Recerca del Banc d’Espanya, Juan Francisco Jimeno, que va impartir la conferència «La crisis económica en España: orígenes, desarrollo y políticas (con especial atención a las reformas laboral y de pensiones)».
The Institute of Applied Economics (IREA) of the University of Barcelona has just announced the call for the first IREA Award Barcelona-Applied Economics, open to all doctoral theses presented at any university during the 2008-2010 period in the field of applied economics. The award, endowed with a 3,000 Euro grant, aims to promote research excellence and the work of young PhDs, hence collaborating in the dissemination of the social prestige of this academic title. The IREA is a research institute affiliated to the Barcelona Science Park and encompasses three consolidated research groups recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya in the field of applied economics: Regional Quantitative Analysis (AQR, from its acronym in Catalan), Risk in Finances and Insurance (RISC, from its acronym in Catalan) and Government and Market (GiM, from its acronym in Catalan).

The organisations located in the park can request maintenance services to maintain the facilities in good condition, as well as request changes to the facilities to adapt the spaces to their activity. These requests can be managed by using the corresponding forms available on the Intranet, which are managed by the customer area of our organisation.

This Intranet can also be used to manage registrations, cancellations or requests for access to scientific services such as radioactive facilities, special reaction rooms, culture rooms, access to services and facilities in the animal facility, and also to make requests for the collection of equipment with disinfection certification for equipment disposal.
Regarding the reservation of rooms and occasional access to specialized services that the Park makes available to its customers, we use a shared calendar which is accessed from our intranet, which will allow greater coordination and communication between the different entities that use these services.
