Call for proposals for 2016 B·Debate program is already open

The call for proposals of activities to include in the 2016 B·Debate program will remain open until June 19th 2015. B·Debate-International Center for Scientific Debate Barcelona is a joint initiative of Biocat –located at the Parc Científic de Barcelona– and the “la Caixa” Foundation to promote top-notch multidisciplinary scientific debates, fostering the open exchange of knowledge and collaboration among experts of renowned international prestige. 

The activities chosen for the B·Debate program of activities must be aligned with the center’s mission, vision and values. Thus, the selection process emphasizes the debates’ potential to generate new knowledge at the cutting edge of the life sciences and related disciplines; to identify strategic challenges and new areas of study and research; to impact society, contributing solutions and innovation that improve living standards or quality of life; their international dimension, with a large number of speakers and organizations from outside Catalonia; their multidisciplinarity; and their ability to project Barcelona and Catalonia as hubs of scientific knowledge and excellence.

The aim of B·Debate is to situate Barcelona and Catalonia as an international scientific focal point and at the same time, promote knowledge and social participation in the important ethical and intellectual debates concerning science. These events focus on key areas of science, including nanotechnology, epigenetics and cancer, malaria, neuroregeneration, supercomputing and simulations, the impact of, and other.
