Els propers dies 24, 25 i 26 d’abril tindrà lloc a La Pedrera la 10ª edició de la Fira «Recerca en directe». L’objectiu d’aquest esdeveniment –que organitza anualment el Parc Científic de Barcelona i la Fundació de CatalunyaCaixa– és mostrar diversos projectes que es duen a terme a centres i instituts de recerca de Barcelona, per apropar la ciència a tots els ciutadans i fomentar vocacions científiques entre els joves.
Inventors study new ways of carrying out tasks more easily, rapidly or efficiently. Many researchers strive to achieve this, including the two partners who founded Sabirmedical. This start-up company arose from a friendship between two young entrepreneurs during an ERASMUS grant. Sabirmedical has recently joined the Bioincubator PCB-Santander at the Barcelona Science Park.
In any biological process, multiple interactions occurring at the molecular level make it impossible to observe live cells in real time, because light microscopes cannot focus light at scales of less than 350 nanometres. New breakthroughs in nanophotonics, however, will shortly enable us to visualise molecular processes at an optical resolution of ten nanometres, according to researcher María García-Parajo, head of the Bionanophotonics Laboratory at the Catalonia Institute for Bioengineering (IBEC), located at the PCB. On 12th September, the CIDEM-PCB Bioincubator of the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB, Barcelona Science Park) and the business incubator Quebec Biotechnology Innovation Centre (QBIC), located in the Biotech City of Laval Island (Quebec), signed a collaboration agreement which aims to strengthen new cooperation models that support the creation of new enterprises.

The organisations located in the park can request maintenance services to maintain the facilities in good condition, as well as request changes to the facilities to adapt the spaces to their activity. This Intranet can also be used to manage registrations, cancellations or requests for access to scientific services such as radioactive facilities, special reaction rooms, culture rooms, access to services and facilities in the animal facility, and also to make requests for the collection of equipment with disinfection certification for equipment disposal.
Regarding the reservation of rooms and occasional access to specialized services that the Park makes available to its customers, we use a shared calendar which is accessed from our intranet, which will allow greater coordination and communication between the different entities that use these services.
