The intense heat is here: pay special attention to controlling energy expenditure

After a rainy and cool spring, the summer has arrived with record temperatures. During days of intense heat, we try to control the temperature at home and at work to keep the high temperatures and humidity at bay and create a comfortable atmosphere. Everyone feels the heat differently, so it’s very subjective and varies from person to person.

Different regulatory authorities have established 24ºC-26ºC as the correct range in SUMMER. It is neither healthy nor comfortable for the body to maintain indoor-outdoor temperature differences of more than 8-10°C, as going from one to the other can cause thermal shock.

In large rooms and spaces, the room temperature does not always match the thermostat setting. Table-top thermometers let you know exactly what the temperature is in the work area.

It is more energy efficient to keep climate control devices on and well programmed, rather than switching them on and off, and it is important to keep windows closed, especially in corridors and passageways, as they allow dirt, noise, heat and insects to enter.

In the current climate emergency situation, there is an urgent need to reduce energy demand from heating and cooling homes and workplaces, especially in cities where 70% of the energy produced is consumed.
