Fundada el 2020 como spin-off del\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/icn2.cat\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICN2<\/a>\u00a0e\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icrea.cat\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICREA<\/a>, con la participaci\u00f3n del\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imb-cnm.csic.es\/en\/about-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMB-CNM-CSIC<\/a>, el importe total recaudado hasta ahora por la compa\u00f1\u00eda asciende a 68 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La ronda ha sido liderada por<a href=\"https:\/\/imecxpand.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> imec.xpand<\/a>, y ha contado con la participaci\u00f3n de nuevos inversores, EIC Fund, Fond ICO Next Tech, CDTI-Innvierte y Avan\u00e7sa, y de los ya existentes Asabys Partners, Aliath Bioventures y Vsquared, con lo que el importe total recaudado desde su creaci\u00f3n asciende a 68 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n<p>Adicionalmente a esta ronda, Inbrain tambi\u00e9n ha obtenido financiaci\u00f3n y recursos de Merck KGaA para avanzar en el desarrollo cl\u00ednico de su tecnolog\u00eda en las \u00e1reas terap\u00e9uticas de inter\u00e9s del grupo farmac\u00e9utico. Esta alianza impulsar\u00e1 la traslaci\u00f3n de la plataforma d&#8217;Inbrain al uso en humanos, y la ampliaci\u00f3n de su aplicaci\u00f3n al sistema nervioso perif\u00e9rico, adem\u00e1s del central.<\/p>\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda<em>\u00a0Brain\u00a0Computer\u00a0Interface\u00a0Therapeutics\u00a0<\/em>(BCI-Tx) de Inbrain utiliza las excepcionales propiedades del grafeno, un material ganador del Premio Nobel conocido por su resistencia, flexibilidad y resoluci\u00f3n de las se\u00f1ales neuronales. El implante cerebral desarrollado por la compa\u00f1\u00eda tiene un grosor de tan solo 10 micr\u00f3metros -m\u00e1s fin que un fajo de cabello humano- y est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para descodificar y modular la actividad neuronal de manera segura, y con una resoluci\u00f3n sin precedentes, ofreciendo un nuevo nivel de rendimiento en el emergente campo de la neurolog\u00eda de precisi\u00f3n y minimizando el uso de farmacolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Con esta inyecci\u00f3n de capital, Inbrain acelerar\u00e1 el desarrollo de la plataforma BCI-Tx para enfermedades como el Parkinson, la epilepsia o la rehabilitaci\u00f3n en ictus.
