El proyecto ser\u00e1 liderado por la Dra. Aranzazu Vilasante, investigadora del IBEC.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Al acto de formalizaci\u00f3n del convenio asistieron <strong>Joaqu\u00edn Mol\u00ed<\/strong>, presidente de la asociaci\u00f3n NEN y, por parte del IBEC, su director, <strong>Josep Samitier<\/strong>; el director de Gesti\u00f3n, <strong>David Badia<\/strong>; y la l\u00edder cient\u00edfica del proyecto, la <strong>Dra. Aranzazu Vilasante.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El Neuroblastoma es un c\u00e1ncer poco com\u00fan del sistema nervioso simp\u00e1tico, la red nerviosa que env\u00eda los mensajes desde el cerebro al resto del cuerpo. Es el tumor m\u00e1s frecuente durante los 2 primeros a\u00f1os de vida. En total, el neuroblastoma representa el 8-10% de los tumores pedi\u00e1tricos.<\/p>\n<p>Debido a que el neuroblastoma var\u00eda ampliamente de un paciente a otro, existe la necesidad de modelos y terapias m\u00e1s efectivas para su estudio y tratamiento. Sin embargo, la dificultad de replicar con fidelidad el complejo entorno del c\u00e1ncer humano es una barrera cr\u00edtica para comprender los mecanismos subyacentes a la progresi\u00f3n de esta enfermedad y, adem\u00e1s, dificulta la posibilidad de evaluar las terapias dirigidas contra el c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p>En el caso del neuroblastoma, la vascularizaci\u00f3n del tumor desempe\u00f1a un papel crucial en la regulaci\u00f3n del crecimiento del mismo, pero que a\u00f1ade un factor m\u00e1s de complejidad a su estudio y a la b\u00fasqueda de soluciones.<\/p>\n<p>En este contexto, la investigadora del IBEC, la Dra.
