El proyecto es uno de los 20 seleccionados de entre casi 1000 propuestas que se presentaron a esta convocatoria especial, dotada con 2,7 millones de euros, con un objetivo com\u00fan: hacer frente a la actual pandemia causada por la Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>El projecte\u00a0<em>\u201cIdentifying SARS-CoV-2- host cell interactions exploiting CRISPR\/Cas9 engineered human organoids: through the development of specific therapies against COVID19\u201d<\/em>\u00a0recibir\u00e1 financiaci\u00f3n del programa\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.com\/es\/la-fundacion-bbva-impulsa-con-27-millones-de-euros-20-proyectos-de-investigacion-sobre-la-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ayudas Fundaci\u00f3n BBVA a equipos de investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica SARS-CoV-2 y COVID-19<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gracias a la subvenci\u00f3n de 250.000 euros de la Fundaci\u00f3n BBVA, el grupo del IBEC\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibecbarcelona.eu\/ca\/research-groups\/pluripotency-for-organ-regeneration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pluripotencia para la regeneraci\u00f3n \u00f3rganos<\/a>,\u00a0liderado por\u00a0N\u00faria Montserrat,\u00a0junto con Josef Penninger del Instituto de Biotecnolog\u00eda Molecular de Austria y Ali Mirazimi del Instituto Karolinska, en Suecia, estudiar\u00e1n c\u00f3mo el SARS-CoV-2 infecta a las c\u00e9lulas, para ello, utilizar\u00e1n \u2018minirri\u00f1ones\u2019 generados a partir de c\u00e9lulas madre humanas.<\/p>\n<p>En estos organoides ser\u00e1 posible \u201cabrir y cerrar\u201d a voluntad, mediante la t\u00e9cnica de edici\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica CRISPR, las prote\u00ednas que usa el virus como puerta de entrada a las c\u00e9lulas -ACE2, entre otras-, y estudiar as\u00ed el mecanismo de infecci\u00f3n que \u00e9ste utiliza. Adem\u00e1s, los investigadores tambi\u00e9n estudiar\u00e1n las v\u00edas moleculares que se activan una vez el virus infecta la c\u00e9lula. El uso de estos organoides, que recogen la complejidad del \u00f3rgano real, permite acelerar un tipo de investigaci\u00f3n que de otra manera llevar\u00eda a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>El pasado\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/portal\/es\/noticies\/-\/noticia\/not_experts-de-l-ibec-contribueixen-a-identificar-un-farmac-en-fase-clinica-que-bloqueja-els-efectes-del-virus-sars-co-v2?inheritRedirect=false&amp;redirect=%2Fportal%2Fca%2Fcerca%3F_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_keywords%3Dmontserrat%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_data-inici%3D2020-04-01%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_data-fi%3D2020-04-30%26p_p_id%3Dcercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet%26p_p_lifecycle%3D0%26p_p_mode%3Dview%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_tab%3D3&amp;backURL=%2Fportal%2Fca%2Fcerca%3F_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_keywords%3Dmontserrat%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_data-inici%3D2020-04-01%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_data-fi%3D2020-04-30%26p_p_id%3Dcercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet%26p_p_lifecycle%3D0%26p_p_mode%3Dview%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_tab%3D3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mes de abril,<\/a>\u00a0la investigadora, junto a otros centros de investigaci\u00f3n internacionales, ya demostraron que los organoides renales conten\u00edan grupos de c\u00e9lulas que expresaban ACE2 de manera similar a la que se observa en el tejido nativo, y despu\u00e9s, procedieron a infectarlo con SARS-CoV-2.
