{"id":39239,"date":"2019-11-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/\/un-telefono-inteligente-para-detectar-la-apnea-del-sueno-en-casa\/"},"modified":"2020-11-16T16:23:11","modified_gmt":"2020-11-16T15:23:11","slug":"un-telefono-inteligente-para-detectar-la-apnea-del-sueno-en-casa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/es\/un-telefono-inteligente-para-detectar-la-apnea-del-sueno-en-casa\/","title":{"rendered":"Un tel\u00e9fono inteligente para detectar la apnea del sue\u00f1o en casa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Existen varias enfermedades que afectan a la calidad del sue\u00f1o y que pueden producir s\u00edntomas de distinta gravedad, como la Apnea Obstructiva del Sue\u00f1o, un trastorno del sue\u00f1o que se caracteriza por el cese recurrente del flujo de aire durante el sue\u00f1o. Si bien su prevalencia en la poblaci\u00f3n general va del 9 % al 38 %, esta se dispara hasta el 90 % en hombres y el 78 % en mujeres en algunos grupos de personas mayores.<\/p>\n<p>Pese a estas elevadas cifras y a sus graves consecuencias, la mayor\u00eda de pacientes de AOS no reciben diagn\u00f3stico ni tratamiento. El motivo es que el m\u00e9todo de referencia para diagnosticar la AOS, la polisomnograf\u00eda (PSG) nocturna, es una t\u00e9cnica invasiva que implica pasar una noche en el hospital conectado a un equipo que controla la actividad del coraz\u00f3n, de los pulmones y del cerebro; los patrones de respiraci\u00f3n, los movimientos de los brazos y piernas, y los niveles de ox\u00edgeno en sangre durante el sue\u00f1o, y que, adem\u00e1s, supone un coste elevado y no proporciona informaci\u00f3n a largo plazo sobre la afecci\u00f3n del paciente.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora, un nuevo enfoque propuesto por los investigadores del grupo de Procesamiento e interpretaci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales biom\u00e9dicas del IBEC \u2013dise\u00f1ado y probado en colaboraci\u00f3n con el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clinicbarcelona.org\/asistencia\/enfermedades\/apneas-del-sueno\/tratamiento-en-el-clinic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laboratorio del sue\u00f1o<\/a> del Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona\u2013 es capaz de detectar el sonido a partir de la respiraci\u00f3n oral y nasal mientras se duerme en casa, y de identificar los momentos en los que no se respira, adem\u00e1s de analizar los datos mediante unos algoritmos desarrollados en el IBEC y diferenciar entre apneas \u2013cese completo del flujo a aire durante m\u00e1s de diez segundos- e hipoapneas \u2013cese parcial del flujo aire durante m\u00e1s de 10 segundos.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan sus autores, los nuevos resultados pueden ser de gran inter\u00e9s para que los cl\u00ednicos desarrollen una herramienta de selecci\u00f3n y monitorizaci\u00f3n de pacientes de AOS desde casa. \u201cNos encontramos mucho m\u00e1s cerca de encontrar una alternativa real para millones de personas que sufren apneas pero que a\u00fan no han sido diagnosticadas ni tratadas\u201d, comenta Raimon Jan\u00e9, investigador principal en el IBEC, profesor de la UPC y l\u00edder de esta investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El profesor Raimon Jan\u00e9 y su grupo del IBEC han trabajado intensamente en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os buscando soluciones en la denominada \u00absalud m\u00f3vil\u00bb (<em>mHealth,<\/em> en ingl\u00e9s).
