{"id":38823,"date":"2018-01-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-01-21T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/\/identifican-una-proteina-que-mantiene-dormidas-las-celulas-metastasicas-del-cancer-de-mama\/"},"modified":"2020-11-16T16:21:36","modified_gmt":"2020-11-16T15:21:36","slug":"identifican-una-proteina-que-mantiene-dormidas-las-celulas-metastasicas-del-cancer-de-mama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/es\/identifican-una-proteina-que-mantiene-dormidas-las-celulas-metastasicas-del-cancer-de-mama\/","title":{"rendered":"Identifican una prote\u00edna que mantiene dormidas las c\u00e9lulas metast\u00e1sicas del c\u00e1ncer de mama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El tiempo en que se producen las met\u00e1stasis en el c\u00e1ncer de mama (lesiones secundarias originadas a partir de c\u00e9lulas diseminadas del tumor original) var\u00eda mucho de paciente a paciente y se conocen poco los mecanismos que gobiernan la latencia (el estado durmiente de c\u00e9lulas ya esparcidas).\u00a0Ahora, en este trabajo\u00a0\u2013que es publica avui a\u00a0Nature Cell Biology (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41556-017-0021-z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">doi:10.1038\/s41556-017-0021-z<\/a>)\u2013 los investigadores\u00a0han analizado el tipo m\u00e1s frecuente de tumor de mama, el estr\u00f3geno positivo (ER +) &#8211; que representa el 80% de los casos de tumores de mama &#8211; y que se caracteriza por un largo per\u00edodo de latencia con ausencia de s\u00edntomas.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo ha identificado la prote\u00edna quinasa MSK1 como un regulador importante de las met\u00e1stasis durmientes o latentes. Los cient\u00edficos han confirmado en muestras cl\u00ednicas de tumores de pacientes, que los tumores de c\u00e1ncer de mama ER+ que no expresan MSK1 se asocian a un riesgo de recurrencia m\u00e1s anticipado, mientras que aquellos que la expresan har\u00e1n met\u00e1stasis m\u00e1s tarde en el tiempo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn el laboratorio estamos interesados en comprender los mecanismos de met\u00e1stasis y el componente tiempo de este proceso. Hasta ahora, los mecanismos que permit\u00edan a las c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer de mama salir de la latencia eran poco conocidos en modelos precl\u00ednicos y menos en pacientes\u00bb, explica\u00a0Roger Gomis, jefe del laboratorio de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irbbarcelona.org\/ca\/research\/growth-control-and-cancer-metastasis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Control de Crecimiento y Met\u00e1stasis del C\u00e1ncer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores apuntan a que en un futuro este descubrimiento podr\u00eda favorecer a los pacientes en dos direcciones. En primer lugar, para identificar a aquellos con riesgo cercano en el tiempo de sufrir reca\u00eddas y ajustar el tratamiento seg\u00fan dicho pron\u00f3stico.
