Los tumores luminales se caracterizan por expresar receptores de estr\u00f3geno y representan el subtipo m\u00e1s frecuente de c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/p>\n<p>La gl\u00e1ndula mamaria es el \u00fanico \u00f3rgano de nuestro cuerpo que experimenta su mayor desarrollo tras el nacimiento, en funci\u00f3n de fluctuaciones en los niveles de hormonas. Esto la convierte en un buen modelo para investigar el proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n celular, as\u00ed como los mecanismos que gobiernan la progresi\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/p>\n<p>Como explica Ra\u00fal M\u00e9ndez: \u201cHist\u00f3ricamente se ha estudiado en gran profundidad c\u00f3mo las hormonas regulan el desarrollo de la gl\u00e1ndula mamaria a nivel transcripcional, es decir, la s\u00edntesis del ARN mensajero a partir del ADN. En trabajos previos de nuestro grupo hab\u00edamos descubierto que los factores denominados CPEBs regulan el siguiente paso, la traducci\u00f3n de ese ARN mensajero a prote\u00edna.
