Su tecnolog\u00eda, basada en Graph Foundation Models, extrae conclusiones robustas incluso con las muestras limitadas y heterog\u00e9neas que genera t\u00edpicamente la biomedicina.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La empresa ha sido impulsada por el <strong>Dr. Salvador Aznar Benitah<\/strong>, investigador ICREA en el IRB Barcelona y fundador de la biotech Ona Therapeutics; el <strong>Prof. Pere Barlet<\/strong>, catedr\u00e1tico del Departamento de Arquitectura de Computadores de la UPC y fundador de otras tres spin-offs en el \u00e1mbito de la IA; y <strong>Rafa Terradas<\/strong>, fundador de la tecnol\u00f3gica barcelonesa Napptilus Tech Labs. El proyecto combina as\u00ed liderazgo cient\u00edfico con experiencia en desarrollo tecnol\u00f3gico y empresarial.<\/p>\n<p>La empresa se articula en dos vertientes complementarias. Por un lado, desarrolla una plataforma basada en inteligencia artificial dirigida a investigadores y cl\u00ednicos, especialmente en oncolog\u00eda, que permite integrar y analizar datos biom\u00e9dicos complejos para mejorar el diagn\u00f3stico y el pron\u00f3stico. Por otro, impulsa Helix for Longevity, una aplicaci\u00f3n orientada al p\u00fablico general que estima la edad biol\u00f3gica a partir de datos cl\u00ednicos y moleculares, y ofrece recomendaciones personalizadas en nutrici\u00f3n, ejercicio y descanso para promover una vida m\u00e1s saludable a largo plazo.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Una nueva generaci\u00f3n de modelos de IA para integrar datos biol\u00f3gicos<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, la investigaci\u00f3n biom\u00e9dica ha generado una cantidad sin precedentes de datos, desde transcript\u00f3mica y epigen\u00f3mica hasta metabol\u00f3mica y lipid\u00f3mica. Para abordar este reto, HelixAI desarrolla una inteligencia artificial propia basada en Graph Foundation Models, una nueva generaci\u00f3n de modelos de IA capaces de detectar relaciones complejas entre distintos tipos de datos biol\u00f3gicos.<\/p>\n<p>A diferencia de otros entornos donde se aplica la IA, los datos biom\u00e9dicos suelen ser heterog\u00e9neos y limitados en volumen, lo que exige modelos dise\u00f1ados espec\u00edficamente para trabajar en condiciones reales y extraer conclusiones robustas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDurante a\u00f1os hemos generado enormes cantidades de datos en nuestros laboratorios, pero a\u00fan estamos lejos de aprovechar todo su potencial.
